As the beauty of Christ's life and character glows before us in the light of the Gospels, we should say, "That is what I am to be some day. I am yet very far from it, but I am to reach it. That is my destiny." Such a hope cherished in the heart has a wondrous uplifting power. Since we are to be some day like Christ, we should grow every day in grace : we should be getting ever a little more like Christ in feeling, in temper, in disposition, in affection; our aim should be to bring every thought and emotion and desire into sweet subjection to Christ. We should not only cherish this blessed vision, but should seek daily to grow into its divine beauty.
