WHAT CAN I DO?

Each day we turn on the news to hear stories about how people are dying tragically; robberies; natural disasters; starvation. It seems so melancholic everywhere and the world seems to be full of suffering and pain.

Or have you ever received an assignment at work or school that seems so daunting and you weren't sure if you can handle it? Have you been seeing depressing news on TV and cannot stop asking yourself what could you do by yourself

You may have questioned: "What can I do? Honestly, the truth is "nothing"! Not by yourself!

In John 6:9-11 (*), the story of 5 loaves and 2 fishes was a tremendous challenge for any ordinary person. However, from the humble 5 loaves and 2 fishes, Jesus fed a crowd of 5,000. He made something small and insignificant to have a great impact on the masses.

Just like the bread, Jesus blesses our lives and make extraordinary people out of ordinary people like us, so that His glory and majesty might be seen through us.

So today, when you look at the world we are living in, instead of asking "What can I do," ask yourself "What can't I do with Jesus."

(*) "There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fishes, but what are they for so many?" Jesus said.
"Have the people sit down." Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, about five thousand in number. Jesus then took the loaves, and when he has given thanks, he distributed them to those who were seated. So also the fish, as much as they wanted.
