Parent HugS #3 (Curry Puffs), 29th Jun 2012

Once again, the Old Chang Kee curry puffs came back to PHS on 29th June 2012.

Parent Volunteers came to help out in ensuring the students got their curry puffs.

This time, we used individualised cards to ensure that each student were given their treat.  The previous system of stamping on the hands were cumbersome, and did not ensure that the students were given their fair share.

Here are the thank-yous from our appreciative students for the donuts.

Parent HugS #2 (Donuts), 24th April 2012

Today's treat was donuts.

PSG would like to thank the parents, who came this morning to help.  They have to make sure that each student have a donut, while ensuring that the distribution was done in an orderly fashion.  One of the challenges was to detect students from "sneaking back" again to get the 2nd, or 3rd donut.

At the end of the day, we had a good time "networking" and sharing a brief time during recess with our children.

Looking forward to the 3rd and last Parent HugS of the year!

Elevarse Concert, 13th Apr 2012

Venue : Nanyang Polytechnic, Auditorium
Guest of Honour : Mrs Esther Mok, N6 Cluster Superintendent

Theme:
They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings as EAGLES
they shall run, and not be weary;
and they shall walk, and not faint (Isaiah 40:31)
(This is the core theme for PSG, too)

Last night, the Performing Arts played, sang, acted and danced in earnest to a full-house auditorium in Nanyang Polytechnic.

With many left outside without any tickets for this one-night event, the night was filled with enthusiasm after many months of hard work.  The programme went on without a hitch and it was a night to remember, especially for the Sec 4 students, because it is the last event before they "step-down" from all CCAs and devote themselves to preparations for their O'levels.

Cross Country Run, 9th Mar 2012

The weather was perfect for the run at MacRitchie Reservoir on that morning.
Just after the rain, it was cool - yet not too hot.

Thanks to the sporting parents who came and ran with the students.

Meet-the-Parents, Sec 1, 7th Jan 2012

PSG took the opportunity to be present for the Sec 1's first Meet-the-Parents Session.

There were many parents who were keen to help and there were also many who were concerned that they may not be able to commit their time when they join PSG.

We would like to assure that parents are not expected to devote their time to every activity organised by the school or PSG.  But it is appreciated that for certain activities, e.g. outdoor activities, parents could volunteer to accompany the students.  This would greatly assist the teacher.

If every parent volunteer once, PSG would have no lack of assistance.

After all, PSG strongly believes that time spent with the child, is not time wasted, but an investment.

There are some photos taken.  Please visit our facebook page:

PSG Thank You dinner, 23rd Nov 2011

Dear parents,

It had been  busy year for PSG, as usual.

A thank you and a little get-together was organised to round-up the year, before we take a rest from PSG activities and "re-charge" our batteries for 2012.

It was also a farewell for Alvin & Elicia Soh who served PSG for 4 years, as their daughter graduated in 2011.  Thanks and all the best to both of you, Alvin & Elicia.

We are sure we will still see you around.

Open House, 29th Oct 2011

Venue : at Bethel Hall

PHS held its Open House to show what the school can offer to the prospective Sec 1s.

There were many questions asked by concerned parents.  Is the school good?  How are the teachers?  How do you find the school?  PSG offered our opinion to the best of our experience and knowledge.  They were reassured of the school's emphasis on Character Development, its vision and the dedication of the teachers.

A number of parents left our PSG corner with remarks, "Now we hope the points are enough to get in"...

Please see our Facebook Group page for the rest of the photos.
