"The year 2010 marks a very special milestone for Presbyterian High School. It is the year we celebrate our 45th anniversary. From our humble beginning as Li Sun High School in 1965, PHS has blossomed into a well recognised and sought-after government-aided mission school.
Our concert, Radix, is our way to commemorate our 45 years of history, and features all our preforming arts groups.
Preparing for a concert is a mammoth task, Radix has involved almost 400 people, including the production team, crew and cast, musicians, and all those who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make this concert a success. Our teachers, executive and administrative staff, students, parents, alumni and well-wishers have all been actively involved at the various stages of the preparation and production of Radix.
Allow me to convey my hearfelt thanks to the many people who have laboured day and night, day after day to make Radix a success.
Thank you for being with us as we journey through the history of PHS. We appreciate the partnership of each and every person, and we pray that the Almighty God will bless you always."
RADIX is a term in Latin, which means "root". It epitomises the essence upon the concert is founded. Just like the roots that provide for and give rise to the initial sapling, the concert serves as a timely reminder to the unyielding determination and tireless contributions of the pioneers. The concert is also an exciting platform for the pupils to display the vitality and vibrancy of their artistic talents in the form of song, dance and instrumental performances, as they recreate the PHS story in a journey of reminiscence.

It was a concert to remember!
Although there was a technical glitch on the 1st night, the dancers were "professional" and performed without music accompaniement. They were later rewarded and the audience were able to watch their dance item in its entirety. The dancers were supple and their movements fluid. What a joy to watch!
We were impressed by the guzheng group, as we never realised that the group was so big! The precision drill by the Boys' and Girls' Brigade was executed in their usual crisp and sharp moves. Most enjoyable!
But it was the Drama that really stole the whole show! The script was well-written, and it portrayed the different aspects of PHS story realistically. The dialogue was witty and sharp. There was injection of humour at the right places, without compromising the poignant moments. It did not resort to being "preachy" and pace did not drag. The actors/actresses were articulate and their comic timing was impeccable. Audience was able to identify "Mrs Carolin Tan" character by her familiar jacket and her popular phrase "learning with your eyes, mind and heart". The PHS story was therefore re-told in a very refreshing way, something that was not seen in school concerts for a long time!
Congratulations to all the instructors of the various performing arts who had put in so much effort, and not forgetting the hard work by the performers. Even the production and technical crew must not be forgotten, as well as ALL those, who had in one way or another, contributed to the realisation of this concert.
We enjoyed ourselves!
